ABK Biography

Anybody Killa, or 'ABK' is the stage name of James Lowery (born June 26, 1973), a horrorcore rap artist. Lowery is of Native American descent, and his family belongs to the Lumbee tribe. He has a very noticeable lisp.

ABK: Early history

Lowery started his rap career in 1995 as part of the group Krazy Klan. He rapped under the name Jaymo while his partner L.A.V.E.L. rapped as Jayho. They followed the Insane Clown Posse's horrorcore style. They released two albums before going their separate ways.

Re-naming himself Native Funk, Lowery released a solo CD called Rain From The Sun in 2000.

ABK: Anybody Killa

Now calling himself the Anybody Killa, he joined Psychopathic Records, and immediately started work on his first nationally released album, Hatchet Warrior. Although it was first stated to be an EP, it ended up being a full length LP, released a lot later than anticipated.

When labelmates Dark Lotus lost a member in 2001, ABK was their first choice as a replacement. He recorded verses on the re-issued version of Tales From The Lotus Pod in 2002. He became Blaze Ya Dead Homie's Partner in crime and pesonal homie behind the music featuring on almost everyone of each others songs.Together they became a two man group which was called Drive-By and released one album entitled Pony Down.

Dark Lotus released another album called Black Rain which prominently featured ABK.

His follow-up LP, Dirty History, was released in 2004. He has since released an EP named Road Fools with a DVD of tour footage and his own personal brand of comedy. In this EP/video, he also exploits his "nub".

Lowery was asked to join another Psychopathic Records supergroup, the Psychopathic Rydas, in 2004. Under the alias "Sawed Off", he appeared on the album Check Yo Shit In Bitch.

On February 3, 2006 it was announced that ABK had left Psychopathic Records due to contract issues.

ABK has since gone on his own to do things his own way, including starting his own website and re-releasing the Native Funk album Rain From The Sun.The re-release (released on June 1st), included a second disc entitled the Rattlesnake EP with all new material including a new version of Guillotine called Guillotine Pt. 2 featuring fellow rapper Strict. In a recent interview on his site, he mentioned a Mix Tape to be released shortly and hopefully Mud Face by the end of the year.

In 2006, ABK started a group called the Detroit Warriors With Fellow Rappers Strict & Venomiz. In October it was announced that the Warriors had a falling out and are no more.

He finished working on a project he had started before he left called "ABK's Orange-Black CDs". They were available Oct. 1st, 2006. On November 9, 2006 ABK announced his site will be down for awhile, but when its back up in January 2007 Mudface will be released followed by a tour in the summer. As of January 20, 2007 his site is officially back up and it is said that he will be going back on tour this year. ABK released a EP in time for Christmas 2006, called Holiday Jingles. This EP sold for three dollars and consisted of the tracks "Grandma got robbed for a case of warm beer" and "Holiday Ho".

In 2007, ABK plans to release his new album, titled Mud Face.
