Abramelin Biography

Abramelin is an Australian death metal band. The band was formed in 1988, under the name of Acheron. The founding members were: Simon Dower (vocals), Jason Black (highest snooker break; 85) (guitar), David Abbott (guitar), Derek (bass), and Michael Colton (drums). After one demo and an EP they changed their name to Abramelin in 1994 and released another EP hinting back at their earlier name, Transgression from Acheron. Their self-titled debut album was released in 1995 on the Australian label Shock Records and got re-issued in 1998 on Repulse Records. A second album was released in 2000, titled Deadspeak again on Shock Records. The band also supported Cradle of Filth on both their Australian tours and played at the Metal for the Brain festival. Matt Wilcock is currently the guitarist of Akercocke.

The name is inspired by Abramelin the Mage.
