Abrasive Wheels Biography

The Abrasive Wheels are a punk rock band. The band originated in Leeds, and consisted of Shonna on vocals, Dave on guitar, Harry on bass and Nev on the drums. They produced two albums, When The Punks Go Marching In and Black Leather Girl and are known as an influential punk band of the early eighties.

The band later reformed in 2003 with Steve on guitar. Harry departed soon after to be replaced by Chris on bass. Scruff replaced Nev on drums during the recording of a new album, and he became a permanent fixture when Nev later left the band.

Dave however was later replaced by Eden Townsley on guitar, causing a new chemistry within the band.

In 2005, the band recorded four new tracks, and shot its first ever music video for the EP "Nothing to prove" released on SOS records. Abrasive Wheels also took part in the Van's Warped Tour - one of the biggest punk events in the world, followed by a tour of the United Kingdom and continental Europe. In 2006, the band toured the east coast of the USA, headlined the Antifest in Czech Republic, and began work on a new album.
