AlogiA Biography

AlogiA is a Serbian progressive/power/heavy metal band.

They have released two albums in Serbian, and one in English, which consisted of English versions of the songs from the first album. Their first album was called Priče o Vremenu (Tales of Time) 2002, the second was Priče o Životu (Tales of Life) 2004, and the last is Secret Spheres of Art 2005.

AlogiA: History

AlogiA comes from Smederevo. Brothers Miroslav (guitar) and Srdjan (guitar) Brankovic established AlogiA in 2000, and with the rest of the crew - Damir Adzic (drums), Ivan Vasic (bass guitar) and Branislav Dabic (keyboards) began the realization of their first album.

During 2001, singers Ivica Laus, Bojan Milovanovic and Nikola Mijic (the winners of the biggest Serbian singing contest 3K Dur) joined them. Nikola Mijic became a member of the band. The album was recorded in their studio PARADOX. AlogiA's first album was released in February 2002 for the publishing company One Records. The album was named Price o Vremenu (Tales of Time). The band added one more keyboard player - Vladimir Djedovic. AlogiA began a concert tour and after a little while they became the most popular heavy metal band in Serbia.

AlogiA have performed in many big concerts:

  • Three birthday concerts of the major rock radio station Belgrade 202 on Belgrade's main square before 40,000 people;

  • They have played with many big bands such as Paul Di'Anno & Killers, Savatage and Whitesnake;

  • The three biggest Serbian Guitar Festivals in Zajecar (2002, 2003, 2004);

  • Anniversary concert "Ostajte Ovde" of the most celebrated Serbian rock bands Riblja čorba and No Smoking Orchestra before 30,000 people;

  • Two Hard'n'Heavy Festivals in Belgrade - where they were the headliners;

  • Sold out solo concert in Belgrade's famous SKC (bands like At the Gates, Napalm Death, Biohazard and Pro-Pain have also played there);

  • In many places along SCG: Smederevo, Kovin, Kosovska Mitrovica, Cacak, Trebinje, Odzaci, Arilje, Jagodina, Sabac, Novi Sad, Pancevo, Kragujevac, Paracin, Vrnjacka Banja, Gornji Milanovac, Becej, Cuprija, Pozarevac, Aleksinac, Zrenjanin, Celarevo, Obrenovac, Senta, Krupanj.

During 2003 Ivan Vasic, Srdjan and Miroslav Brankovic join the army and the band took a break. When they returned the band restarted work. In 2004 they began recording their second album for the Serbian market and also played numerous concerts. In August 2004 AlogiA signed their first foreign contract with publishing company Locomotive Music. The contract is for an English version of their first album which will be named Secret Spheres of Art. The album contains two new songs: "Secret Sphere" and "Politics of War".

In September 2004, AlogiA released their second album for the Serbian market named Price o Zivotu (Tales of Life). The key intention of the band's members in this album is to lift Serbian metal music to a higher level and move it toward the worlds' attention. The publisher is One Records. AlogiA is currently one of the top and most famous bands in Serbia. Members of this band have played in several other bands: Psychoparadox, Hexagram, Imperija, O.K. Racunar, Draconic.
