Ashen Mortality Biography
Ashen Mortality got together in 1993 between former Seventh Angel member Ian Arkley (guitar/vocals) and Melanie Bolton (keyboardist/vocalist). Accompanied by bassist Tim Cooper and drummer Brian Jones, the Birmingham-based quartet debuted their hybrid of black metal and goth on their self-released demo within months of their formation. After signing to Forsaken Records in 1995, Ashen Morality's first full-length Sleepless Remorse came out the following year, amidst an array of fill-in drummers. With skins replacement George Aytoun joining in 1998, the band's second album Your Caress was released that same year. ~ Mike DaRonco, All Music Guide
