Dreamaker Biography

Madrid, Spain's Dreamaker was founded in 2003 by four disgruntled former members of fantasy power metal outfit Dark Moor -- vocalist Elisa Candelas Martin, guitarist Albert Maroto, keyboardist Roberto Pena de Camus, and drummer Jorge Saez -- after irreconcilable creative differences surfaced between themselves and man-in-charge Enrik Garcia. Rounded out by Argentine guitarist Matias Sosa and bassist Carlos Pena, Dreamaker proceeded to record a pair of LPs in 2004's Human Device and 2005's Enclosed, bearing many of the same hallmarks as their previous band: speedy drums, melodic power metal riffs, frenetic synthesizers, and soaring vocals -- minus the overly fantastical lyrics or yore. In fact, one could say that Dreamaker's song subjects are amazingly rational by comparison, but lose very little in the way of drama thanks to Martin's powerful and emotionally charged voice. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, All Music Guide
