Element 101 Biography

The indie funk five-piece Element 101 hails from New Jersey and molds their own brandish scale of punk rock, reminiscent of Elvis Costello, the Go-Go's, All, and the Descendents. Signed to Tooth & Nail Records, Element 101 is comprised of vocalist Crissie Verhagen, guitarists Chris Mizzone and Danny Papa, bassist Sal Ciaravino, and drummer Nick Acocella. They issued their debut Future Plans Undecided in spring 2000. Stereo Girl followed in early 2001. By the time Element 101 prepped for their third album, they'd reach a new musical level. More Than Motion, which was released in fall 2002, showcased a new found confidence from the band as well as a melodically tight sound. ~ MacKenzie Wilson, All Music Guide
