Horcas Biography

After leaving V8, guitarist Osvaldo Civile formed Horcas in August of 1988, having Eddie Walker on bass, Adrian Zucchi on guitar, Gabriel Ganzo on drums, and Hugo Benitez on vocals. Before issuing the band's debut album, called Reinara La Tempestad, Zucchi left the act. Soon after, ex-Lethal Oscar Castro and bassist Norberto Yanez joined in, participating in the group's second album, called Oid Mortales El Grito Sagrado. While promoting its music, Horcas had the opportunity to open for Motorhead and Metallica, two of the band's major achievements. In 1997, having Sebastian Coria on guitar, Guillermo De Luca on drums, and Walter Meza on vocals, Horcas recorded Vence. After releasing the following album, on April 28, 1999, the group's founder Osvaldo Civile passed away. A tragic event Horcas was able to overcome, deciding to go ahead. Guitarist Gabriel Lis took his place. ~ Drago Bonacich, All Music Guide
