Howling Bells formed in Australia in early 2005. Most members emerged from Bondi-based band Waikiki, whom enjoyed mild success in 2003 with album 'I'm Already Home'. Soon after formation, they moved to the UK where they recorded their debut record with Coldplay producer Ken Nelson. The album was released early 2006 on the Bella Union label to critical acclaim, including a 9/10 in the NME and a 7.8/10 in Pitchfork . They spent much of the next two years touring; mostly in Europe, including the Reading and Leeds Festivals. They also supported The Killers in the US, Europe and Australia, and Placebo in Europe and Australia. Howling Bells are currently writing for their second album.
