Number One Gun Biography

Hailing from Chico, CA, the four members of Number One Gun have been quietly making emotional, melodic rock to a steadily growing audience since forming around 2001. Vocalist/ guitarist Jeff Schneeweis, bassist Trevor Sellers, guitarist Ben Tietz, and drummer Jordan Mallory recorded the five-song EP Forever in their garage in August 2002 before heading out on tour. The group was offered a deal with Salvage after a chance meeting with Dave Tosti, A&R rep for the small label and group member of PAX217, a band Number One Gun had opened for. They began recording with Bob Burch in January 2003; Floodgate Records soon got involved to help with the album's marketing and distribution. The album, Celebrate Mistakes, was released at the end of the summer. Number One Gun signed with Tooth and Nail in early 2005, and their label debut, Promises for the Imperfect, produced by Aaron Sprinkle (Acceptance, Pedro the Lion), followed in July. ~ Corey Apar, All Music Guide
