Long time gone, hither and yon
Our last paycheck is spent (So what?)
Rice and beans, limited means

We put 167,000 miles on that car
Along the way it didn't seem we'd traveled all that far
We took every scenic byway and stopped at every town of note
Now our engine has a rattle and the credit card is broke

Turnpike north, back and forth
Friday morning gone

These weeks are dragging on
